Who We Are
Kids Sports is an inclusive, non-competitive, community-building program delivering free fun physical activities across areas of Queensland.

Kids Sports has moved from active and healthy programs just for the kids, to active and healthy programs for the whole family!! Programs such as “Parent n’ Toddler Sports,” “Active Parents,” Walking groups for mums and bubs, grandmas, and other adults, Family Fun Days, Kite-making sessions and more!

Plus other programs such as Year 4 Fun Days for Schools and The Walking School Bus. Read more about all these programs in the programs section of this website!

What We Do
Kids Sports sessions are conducted by Kids Sports Teachers who are also qualified and Qld registered, Physical Education, Early Childhood, or Primary Teachers from schools around the local area. Kids Sports Teachers are assisted by Kids Sports Supervisors (Uni Students, Personal Trainers, Student Teachers). All staff sign an ethical Code of Conduct. This quality of supervision ensures every Kids Sports session is safe for all participants.

Kids Sports received the Australian Commonwealth Games Association Corporate Award at the 2010 ACHPER Awards ceremony.

Values and Philosophy
Kids Sports was developed at a local school level by passionate teachers, who wanted to make a difference in the lives of children. It was designed to be fun, non-competitive, and accessible to all children, not requiring any level of sporting skill proficiency. Its basic philosophy is to “enable children to have fun, whilst puffing at the same time.” Originally a ‘Fitness Club’ at a Primary School on Brisbane’s north-side, now hundreds of thousands of children and their families, in parks and schools across Queensland, have experienced the excitement of Kids Sports.

It has since grown and developed into a highly successful business with a strong reputation across Shire Councils, government bodies and the general community. The Kids Sports program attracts an average of 70 participants per session.  Some parks have had over 50 Toddlers, 90 Primary Schoolers and 20 Parents all participating in their respective physical activity programs at the same time. Parks are ‘alive’ with activity. Currently, around 245 000 children and their parents, have participated in Kids Sports sessions since 2003.

How our programs build active and healthy communities
For some parents, being new to the community, being busy in a frantic world, or being at home with young ones on their own, makes them feel isolated from community connections. It is Kids Sports’ aim, through our parks programs, to help parents feel connected to others, to the park environment, and to build competence and confidence having funand playing together.
